Camp Mission and Guidelines
Our Mission
West Marin Fiddle Camp exists to gather musicians and students of all levels and enrich lives through music, connection, and shared experience.
Immersed in nature and intentionally unplugged from modern digital distractions, we create space for deep listening, presence, and growth. We support learning at every stage of life — mind, body, and spirit — while honoring the roots of traditional and folk music.
By learning from masters of the tradition and blending old and new, we help carry forward the age-old oral tradition of acoustic, live music — played for joy, connection, and the nourishment of spirit and community.
Camp Intentions
Our time together is about more than learning tunes. We invite participants to:
Go deeper — musically and personally
Set intentions and find meaning in why we play music
Cultivate connection with ourselves, each other, and the land
We encourage:
Mindfulness and presence
Full-body listening
Getting out of the head and into the body
Breathing, grounding, and sensing energy
A positive mindset — noticing what’s working
Dedication, curiosity, and belief in ourselves and one another
Music is a living practice. We approach it with openness, humility, and joy.
