  • Summer Camp 2024 will be held July 14-20, 2024 at Commonweal Garden in Bolinas, CA

  • Overnight campers arrive Sunday evening, July 14th and stay until Saturday morning, July 20, 2024

  • Ages 7 and up

  • THIS IS AN OUTDOOR CAMPING EVENT!

  • Indoor instrument storage will be available in the Yurt

  • We follow all COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions

  • There is limited plumbing on site and bathroom facilities will be limited to portable toilets
    and outdoor showers

  • This is a small, artist run, grass-roots family camp

  • All students will be asked to do two meal shifts during the week. One clean up and one cooking shift.

  • Again, if you are planning to camp please remember: although Commonweal gardens is stunningly beautiful, it is a very rustic, and primitive environment. You’re basically camping for a week with limited facilities, (portapotties and outdoor showers with limited hot water) so if that is not your style we recommend you get accommodations nearby and sign up as a day or full-day camper!

  • NO REFUNDS, we book flights and teachers and make purchases based on the registrations so we can not give refunds under any circumstances.

Fees:

We are offering students the option to pay a 50% deposit.
The remaining half is due on or before July 1st.

Overnight campers under age 18 must have a paying supervising guardian on site, whom of course will be welcome to take classes as well!

$975 for Overnight Campers
(includes breakfast, lunch and dinner, workshops Monday - Friday + camping Sunday evening until Saturday morning).

$775 for Full-day Campers
( Includes afternoon/evening programming lunch + dinner. No camping)

$675 for Day Campers
9:00 AM - 3:00 PM Monday-Friday (includes lunch)

This allows us to make necessary purchases and plan accurately for camp based on firm numbers. Thank you for your understanding.

If West Marin Fiddle Camp should cancel due to natural causes, participants will receive credit towards rescheduled event. If you can not participate during rescheduled time, refunds will be available minus $100 processing fee.

What’s it like West Marin Fiddle Camp?

Spending a week at West Marin Fiddle Camp provides you the opportunity to submerge yourself in music! We are an outdoor acoustic roots music camp centering on immersion in rural American traditions in an inspiring natural setting. You won’t find sheet music here! You’ll spend your day in a gorgeous rural setting centered around community and music. You’ll cook and share meals with new friends, pick fresh fruit right off the trees, learn and share new tunes with soon-to-be old friends, and stay up until the wee hours jamming and singing with your musical heroes!

How many people attend camp?

We are a small grass-roots camp with about 50-75 total campers. At West Marin Fiddle Camp, we are all about community and friendship. Leave with 50-75 new friends!

Where do overnight campers stay?

Overnight campers sleep at the beautiful Commonweal Gardens located in Bolinas, California. Bring your own tent, or if you want to bring your own van or RV that is also possible! Just let us know.

What if I don’t camp?

It’s important to know that Commonweal Gardens, while stunningly beautiful, is a rustic and primitive environment. If you don’t feel comfortable camping, we invite you to secure accommodations nearby and sign up as a day camper.

Are there scholarships available?

While we currently do not have a scholarship program, we do offer work-trade options and the option to pay in installments. Visit the link at the bottom of our website for more information!

Who is camp for?

The West Marin Fiddle Camp is for all ages, levels, and musical backgrounds! With a diverse cast of instructors and an all-day kids program, we got something for everyone.

Will food be provided?

Yes! The meals are homemade, locally-sourced and healthy with gourmet dinners by our amazing chefs. Overnight campers get breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Full day campers get lunch and dinner every day.
